‘Port-Bound’ is the latest adventure in Cooper King’s Expedition Series, a range exploring some of the finest casks in the distillery’s warehouse. Originally intended for release at Christmas, this whisky demanded more time in cask, with the tawny port finish needing a further four months to fully soften and develop. That extra patience has rewarded the whisky with richer layers of dark sugar, dried fruit and lingering coffee notes.
Floor-malted heritage grains are hand-mashed, long fermented, copper pot distilled, matured and bottled at the distillery. The result is an authentic English whisky that reflects both traditional production methods and Cooper King’s distinctive house style.
