Lindores Abbey The Friar John Cor Chapter 3

This latest limited edition release from Lindores Abbey distillery was released in celebration of Friar John Cor, who in 1494 was commissioned by King James IV to turn 8 bolls of malt into Aqua Vitae, which is said to be the earliest known written reference to the production of what we now call whisky!

Crafted from Lowland single malt matured in a combination of ex-bourbon barrels, Amontillado and Pedro Ximénez sherry butts. After vatting the whisky spent time back in those sherry butts to marry perfectly together. Bottled at natural cask strength, without additional colouring or chill-filtration.

Nose: sweet vanilla, treacle, honey and ripe orchard fruitsPalate: full of character and smooth, with layers of caramel, dark syrup, raisins, chocolate and nuts
Finish: long and warm with fruity notes, cinnamon and a hint of chocolate fudge.

70cl, 60.2% ABV
